Challenge

Cruz Roja Sierra Norte in Madrid challenges The Bridge Talent School to create a digital solution to assist women victims of gender violence in this area of Madrid.

The SARA Project was born as a response to this challenge by a multidisciplinary team formed by UX/UI Design, Full Stack Development, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Cloud & DevOps and Digital Marketing.

Solution

We help women victims of gender-based violence in the Sierra Norte (Madrid) through a secure and anonymous website that provides them with information and resources in the area and immediate support through an AI-based chat.

What I learned

  • Gender-based violence is a topic from which it is very difficult to extract reliable statistics due to the lack of verbalization and reporting of real situations.

  • Rural areas such as Sierra Norte in Madrid have different characteristics from other larger cities.

  • I have learned to relate with stakeholders and to value their opinion about the digital product we made.

  • Working with different verticals in such a large group of people has reinforced tolerance to criticism, negotiation and communication.

  • The importance of branding and naming.

  • Designing a chatbot has awakened my desire to investigate more about the design of this type of interfaces.
